Cav’s Wallace breaks leg

Early in the 2nd quarter of last night’s game, Wallace was accidentally kicked by Yao Ming of the Rockets causing a leg fracture. Wallace is not expected back before the playoffs, the pecking order in the east may be in for a change. Their place in the standings may be in jeopardy. It is highly unlikely they would fall below third place but it could jeopardize home court and whether they would meet the Celtics before the eastern conference finals. Meeting the Celtics in the semis of the east without Wallace and the home court would put them in the same predicament as last year, minus their much needed 6th man, home court. Wallace is a formidable force in the defensive paint, and with Boston’s abundance of big men, Z may be in early foul trouble without him. Defensively Z would have to defend the paint without the aid of the stalwart Wallace. Offensively Z would not be able to spread and take his game outside as usual because of the lack of offensive rebounds in Wallace’s absence. The Cavaliers were searching for one big man now they are in the market for two.
