Open Season

September 3rd marked the beginning of the 2009 NCAA football season. South Carolina was in a snorer with North Carolina State University. I could not have been more disappointed in a Steve Spurrier football team. What I expected was a high scoring and entertaining battle. What I expected and what I saw was like comparing break dancing to a waltz. Opportunities were plentiful for both teams but they never took advantage of them. This was not a typical Spurrier quarterback. He may be more suited for NAIA football. He doesn’t have enough juice for the ACC. Admittedly he is a sophomore and completed 13-22 passes but the Gamecocks may have to turn to someone else quickly before the season is lost.
