Appalachain State was led by Armanti Edwards. Edwards engineered the Mountaineers to 493 yards of total offense. Edwards ran 72 yards on 13 carries and passed for 235 yards on 19-25 attempts, for a total of 307 yards. Appalachian State score 28 points in the second half after watching their high powered offense sputter to one touchdown in the first half. The 298 total yards of total offense moved Edwards up three spots into 16th place in the NCAA division 1 FCS history with 11,061 total yards in his career.
